# 🚛 VTLog Client — Massive Update (Now in Beta)

Over the past week I've rebuilt huge parts of the client. The main goal was to **simplify the connection for better stability**, but a lot of new features came along the way. Here's everything that's new.

## 🔌 Connection & reliability

- The connection is now a plain **websocket** — much simpler and more stable.

- Reconnection is **direct ping-based** instead of DNS-based. ISPs are just slow to refresh DNS, which was causing drops.

- **Better recovery of gaps** when a connection drops mid-drive.

- **Clear in-overlay indication** when the connection is gone, so you always know your status.

## 📏 Accuracy

- **Distance & fuel calculation redone** — noticeably more accurate.

## 🧩 Mods — no more verifying

Mods no longer need to be verified or uploaded. The plugin now **automatically corrects any violations in-place**.

Example: Grand Utopia used to be forbidden because it ships a modified police file — you had to delete that file from the mod before you could play or verify it. Now the plugin quietly undoes the police changes on load, so you can **play the mod completely untouched — unverified, no uploading, nothing to edit**. The trade-off is a slightly longer load into the game.

## 🖥️ Overlay (new)

- Open the in-game overlay with **ALT + X**; settings live inside it.

- **Automatic damage clips** — a clip is recorded when you crash, with the evidence token shown on-screen. Records **game audio only**, GPU-powered.

- **Hidden from capture/streaming** and **compatible with Lossless Scaling** (toggle it if you want it visible on a Discord monitor-share).

- Bigger, readable evidence popup (even at 720p) plus general design polish.

- **No longer makes the Discord overlay flicker.**

## 📦 Live custom jobs (new)

Insert a job straight into the **cargo market — live, like TMP, no save/load needed**. Open the overlay at any company, set what you want, enable it, and it shows up in the jobs list. Only cargo that fits your trailer is shown.

## 🔒 Trust

The plugin **and** installer are now **code-signed**. Reputation builds over time, so "unverified / unsafe software" warnings will disappear. VirusTotal reports it fully clean.
